Hyacinthus, the beautiful prince of Sparta, is many things, but a good archer is just not one of them. 

So, when Kronia rolls around, and Hyacinthus has somehow found himself roped into a public archery competition, he does the only thing he can think of- relentlessly prays to the one and only Apollo for nothing short of a miracle. 

In which Hyacinthus gets more than he bargained for and Apollo falls head over heels way too fast.

In other words, I saw a website that said Apollo and Hyacinthus were just 'really good friends' and got triggered enough to write this story.
