Gilbert Markham is fascinated by Helen Graham, the beautiful and enigmatic woman who has recently moved into Wildfell Hall. He is swift to befriend her and steadfastly refutes the local gossip calling her character and behaviour into question, yet he soon has cause to regret his infatuation, and grave doubts and misgivings begin to arise in his mind. It is only when Helen presents Gilbert with her diary and instructs him to read it that the shocking truth about her past life becomes clear.

Anne Brontë was the daughter of Maria (born Branwell) and Patrick Brontë, a poor Irish clergyman in the Church of England. Anne lived most of her life with her family at the parish of Haworth on the Yorkshire moors. Otherwise she attended a boarding school in Mirfield between 1836 and 1837, and between 1839 and 1845 lived elsewhere working as a governess. In 1846 she published a book of poems with her sisters and later two novels, initially under the pen name Acton Bell. Her first novel, Agnes Grey, was published in 1847 with Wuthering Heights. Her second novel, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, was published in 1848. The Tenant of Wildfell Hall is thought to be one of the first feminist novels.

Anne died at 29, probably of pulmonary tuberculosis. After Anne's death her sister Charlotte edited Agnes Grey to fix issues with its first edition, but prevented republication of The Tenant of Wildfell Hall. This is one reason why Anne is not as well known as her sisters. Nonetheless both of Anne's novels are considered classics of English literature.

"Bound by blood, haunted by the past, and forged in the fires of war..." When Duke Cedric of Aedryn is sent to a remote estate by the king, he expects to find a warrior, a strategist-someone to aid the kingdom in its war against the cunning and unstoppable forces of King Aldred. What he doesn't expect is Arya: a cold and mysterious woman of haunting beauty and unearthly power. No one in the kingdom knows her true name or her past, but the king's fear of her is as great as his need for her help. As Cedric brings Arya into the royal court, her presence unsettles everyone, from ambitious nobles to his own intended, Lady Eleanor. Rumors swirl of betrayal, dark magic, and secrets hidden in blood. Yet, as the war deepens, Cedric begins to see the cracks beneath Arya's icy façade-glimpses of a woman scarred by centuries of loss and bound to an enemy that refuses to die. Laziel, a figure from Arya's tragic past, has returned, commanding the enemy's armies with unmatched cunning. To stop him, Arya must confront the memories of a life stolen from her-and a fate she never wanted. But as the lines between ally and enemy blur, Cedric and Arya find themselves drawn to one another, their forbidden bond threatening to unravel everything they stand for. In the end, they must face the ultimate question: how much are they willing to sacrifice to save a kingdom-and each other? Dark, gripping, and laced with forbidden romance, Bloodbound is a tale of vengeance, love, and the choices that bind us to the past-or set us free. If you're looking for comparisons, this story would fit alongside works like The Witcher (for its dark world and slow-burn relationships), A Song of Ice and Fire (for its brutal realism and morally gray characters), and The Broken Empire series by Mark Lawrence (for its merciless world and protagonist grappling with vengeance).

The people who live on the Island of Niapachad are a throwback to the past, thus there are stories and mysteries there that will transport you back in time. The community is unusual, they dress strangely, and they talk strangely. They were still accustomed to the outdated social structure, which consisted of gentry. While you're here, there's a ton of stuff to learn and explore. Enthralling balls, captivating operas, and breathtaking vistas from throughout the island. But exercise caution-you never know what lies in wait, and it might turn out to be more than simply the lovely fantasy you've always desired. ***** Lady Emily Moore had had enough of living in a chilly, isolated home. She so started working for the Marquess of Kain as a maid. She had never been happier since the three months she spent dressing down as a commoner were worth more than her whole life combined. Having no friends, no family...nothing but the clothes on her back and the thoughts in her head. That didn't stop her though, she was strong willed and that's what kept her going all these years. It was the only thing that kept her alive. Her life gradually changes when she gets an opportunity to work as a bodyguard for the royal family. Elyse Jane Elizabeth Colston was raised in her small but cozy house in Lexington, Kentucky with her adoptive No-Maj parents. Elyse is the type of child to always carry a book with her, and more of a keep to herself type of girl. Needless to say, when she got her acceptance letter to Ilvermorny, her parents were shocked but sportive. They were a bit worried at first, but eventually let her go. She was selected into Thunderbird (equivalent to Slytherin) and fit in quite well even though she was a "muggle-born," but Elyse always had that one thought in the back of her head that she did not belong in Thunderbird or really at Ilvermorny at all. Elyse knew she was different since she started at her private school before she went to Ilvermorny. She had a very slight British accent, and the only one in her class who was adopted when she was a baby. She was teased a lot when she first went to Ilvermorny for being a "Muggle Born" sorted into Thunderbird because that is supposedly only for the "Purebloods," but she was accepted but she still felt as though she only had her best friend Lili-Anna, and her boyfriend Tom for support. When Elyse gets asked by Dumbledore to go to Hogwarts for a year for her 5th year, she is really shocked when her adoptive No-Maj parents weirdly takes them no time at all to say that she can go. She ends staying with a family who is still grieving. Even though she enjoys Hogwarts, everyone seams as though they are keeping secrets from Elyse. Join Elyse as she stays at Hogwarts and finds why Dumbledore asked her to come to Hogwarts, learns why she was given up as a baby, makes friends, meets a certain someone, and finds out who she really is.

Y/N was normal, and so was her life. She didn't have dead, rich abusive parents or any magical powers of any sort, and she wasn't secretly the 'chosen one'. She was simply a girl who happened to fancy Black Butler. But it still came as a massive shock to her when she opened her eyes to find herself laying in a back alley of London in the year 1888, Jack the Ripper actively tearing up prostitutes in Whitechapel. With demons, reapers and the pesky Double Charles on the loose, Y/N struggles to adapt to her new life in Black Butler. Hell, she struggles to just KEEP her life much less manage it. Read along as Y/N discovers there's much more to her new friends (and enemies) than what she remembers from flipping through her manga. Waring: mentions of prostitution, violence, blood, death, rape, strong language, mugging, various weaponry and degradation through name calling. There will be warning issued before chapters but most of the triggers mentioned above are important to the story however the reader is NEVER subjected to watch or experience rape though they discover many attempts against other women. I do not own Black Butler's characters/story line or any other books/movies/shows etc mentioned/referenced in this fic!
