As Scott Foster turns 21, strange things start occurring around him. It first starts a few days following his birthday as he casually waits his turn at a drive-thru during Halloween. A scream can be heard. His order is taken. Sirens wail. The police have arrived.

A murder took place in this small town of Youthville! "Poor victim," is all Scott thinks, and he wishes the deceased all the best in the afterlife. But this is only the start of his problems. Two more deaths occur, and Scott is always there to witness it. On Christmas and New Year's Eve, he is always there.

What's more bizarre is the whispers: he hears them blaming him for the deaths. These whispers seem to come from nowhere and everywhere. In the end, they get the better of him. It's time to find out what happened to those dead people.

Collateral Damage is, at first, a slow burner that explores the inner thoughts and lives of the two main characters as it introduces the world they inhabit. The story slowly introduces hints and references that the reader can piece together to get the grander picture at play. It ramps up as you keep reading with more action and drama until it is too much to bear. Can you spot the twists before they come? I don't plan on writing anything overly graphic, but some light smut and a lot of violence will be a part of it. Rated as mature. Plan to update as frequently as I can. Hopefully weekly.
