Elinor is the daughter of Valarion Agnian, the current King of Amberanian. Her life is far from perfect. From her abusive father controlling her life to her non-existent mother being well non-existent. Then a rumour floods her mind, an old tale told to her by Sol. A betrothed female and former captain conspired with a northern king.

Elinor searches Amerbanian's archives high and low for the whole tale. The so-called rumour turns out to be fact. This plagues Elinor at every turn.

Until her father makes the fatal mistake of thinking his daughter will obey without question. A marriage that could mend relations with a lord. A marriage Elinor doesn't want. So like the story, she runs. She runs to the same kingdom the females in the tale ran to.

Kaliste.

Trouble is brewing, and the princess is in the thick of it.
