Two broken souls

Diana has never felt like she belongs on her island. Her sisters are skilled warriors who have seen and died in the world of man and wish to never go back to it. She is young and has never seen the horrors of battle, never known how cruel mankind is, what they do to themselves and others. She wishes to be free of the island and its people, its restrictions. She want's to see the world, experience things she hasn't seen before, learn for herself how bad these humans are. But her mother won't let her. Instead, she is stuck on the island with her sisters, mother, and aunt, focusing on her training. Preparing for an attack nobody thinks will come. That is, until an ancient threat threatens their peaceful world once more.

Loki has never felt like he belongs in his family. He has always been excluded from activities that his brother and his friends are doing. He's been ok with it for most of his life, without his brother and his friends to distract him, he can focus on his books, his learning. His father has never really paid him much attention to him either. It has always been reserved for his favored brother who got everything he asked for. Loki on the other hand, had to work and fight for everything. He was always jealous of his brother, he just didn't show it. He lives his life in solitude, spending most of his days in the palace library or his room, reading and learning. His mother is the only one that bothered to give him attention and her love. Loki has always held an interest in learning anything and everything he can get his hands on and his mother supports him in every way possible. But what happens to their semi-peaceful family when one of their most powerful weapons get stolen from the weapons vault? What happens when Loki meets someone who cares for him more than anyone ever has? Will he accept it and fall in love, or will he reject her and push her away?
