Charlie Waller is a 26 year old cop at a precinct in Queens, New York. Gunning for the detective position at her station, Charlie has made it a point to prove herself to the station Lieutenant and Captain by doubling her work and taking on shadow days with current Detectives.
She finds herself studying up on old cases that have either been solved or run cold. Anything she can do to put her on top of the candidate pool.
It isn't until one day at work when a common thug is brought in off the streets for some ludicrous drug charge that Charlie's life starts to spin out of control.
One day she's catching herself ogling after some drug dealer; and the next, her father is shot dead in his shop, she is recruited to work the case, and her and one unlikely partner are tasked with investigating and bringing down the largest organized crime ring on the East Coast.
