Every twenty-five years, the Gods demand a sacrifice in exchange for their protection. 
Every twenty-five years, a Scales twin dies. 
It has been so for centuries. But this year, when the sacrificed sister awakens in her casket, confused and very much alive, everything goes to hell.

Rhea was supposed to die for her country, but after she unexpectedly resuscitates, the gifts of the Gods are taken away. As her archipelago's protection fades, she must undertake a perilous journey to understand why the Gods refused her sacrifice before war, famine and death bring an end to her people... only to find out the truth hits a little too close to home.
