The year is 1986. George Panayiotou is an attractive young man, plagued with internal struggles revolving around his lack of self-image; and of coming to grips with his closeted homosexuality, in a world that he fears could be far from accepting.
Keeping such a secret begins to torment this poor soul - only made worse by his sham relationship with his girlfriend, Stephanie.
The last thing George wants is to undeservingly break this faultless woman's heart. However, he cannot bring himself to confess the truth to her.
Just as he finally finds the courage to divulge all that he has kept bottled up, he stumbles upon a big enough reason to leave it unspoken, for at least a little while longer.

Clay and George used to be best friends, but after something happened, they break apart and stop seeing each other. George misses Clay each day and never told him the reason why he left. He tries to do anything to get closer to Clay again, but is too scared to bring up the past. Clay's new "friends" constantly push him into dares he doesn't want to do. To not be as powerless as he is at home, he listens to them against his will. When one dare brings him closer to George, the boy he misses so much, he does anything to become his friend again. Through positive messages under George's hated YouTube videos, Clay tries to make the boy smile and go back to being his best friend like the old times they both miss. George on the other hand is openly gay with his close friends and family, his classmates don't need to know that though.
