Rae and Shane leave their home base to do research of Earth, which has left several researchers requesting to live there. There's nothing wrong with it, however it leaves a big hole in their knowledge, as they don't have solid evidence as to what kind of civilization it is.
But they don't know just how impactful this one planet is, despite being on dozens together.
