In the Beginning there was the Author....
I had such fun writing this short essay on how I imagined my favorite universes would revolve around one another. It's only 1,355 words but maybe it could give any one of you some ideas.

Thordís, Goddess of Thunder and Lightning is the Daughter of Thor, Granddaughter of Odin. And lastly the evil which plagued this world Orcs, Goblins and dark Dragons. ThordÍs curios set out to learn and met someone she did not expect. A young Wizard, garbed in grey. Well not so young in the eyes of other but to her. Yes, he was young. But what's to say that this adventure would not lead to another one much more heartbreaking and lonely.Complete
Harry Potter and the Fellowship of the Ring
60 years have passed since Erebor was reclaimed and the Ring of Power has been found. Lord Elrond of Rivendell has sent word to all the Kingdoms of Middle Earth to come to a meeting so that they can deal with this threat. When word reaches Erebor, Thorin Oakenshield decides that the best option is to send a Dwarf that is able to get along with the Elves of Rivendell but who is also a wizard. Haraldur along with Gimli, son of Gloin, will travel to Rivendell. From there they will begin the adventure of a lifetime. They will join four Hobbits, two from the Race of Men, an Elf and a Wizard to form the Fellowship of the Ring.
