"oh well" I shrugged.
"oh well!?" Val shouted.
I jumped in surprise, whirling around to face him, my hands held up defensively.
He took a step forward. "that's what I thought you'd say! You've got to be careful!" he said, gesturing wildly.
I rolled my eyes, turning back around to keep walking.
"Yeah yeah, whatever, let's just hurry up and get going"
Val grabbed my arm, trying to pull me away.
"wait!" He said, pulling harder.
"what, Val!?" I was starting to get really annoyed. My tone was unintentionally harsh, I was definitely NOT happy with him right now.
"aren't you...scared? what if they expell you? Or mistreat you or... try to hurt you?"
I scoffed, "why wouldn't they? I'm a literal monster. Of course they'd try and get rid of me."I said,
"if anything, it'll teach them to stay out of my business."
"and in your eyes, that's a good idea?" He furrowed his eyebrows at me, crossing his arms around his chest rather sassily.
I opened my mouth, then closed it again. What is there to say? I knew that he would never understand. Not because he wasn't born in the demon realm, but simply because he was different. He wasn't like me. Nobody is.
