Ross McIntyre's very existence is illegal. Obsolete decommissioned Psyborg turned soldier of fortune, he inherits his mentor's ship, the St. Martin, in the middle of an AI recovery op. Too late to back out of the contract, he risks mutiny with a crew who fears he's one of the abominations they had suffered under during the recent short, but horrific Psyborg wars. 

With their recovery package located on a black hat R&D site in deep space, a facility defended by the most advanced orbital and suborbital defenses the system has ever seen, he'll have to pull together a shorthanded fearful crew and the operations plan of the century. 

Unbeknownst to him, the AI is hardly a disembodied program on a hard drive somewhere in the facility. And she's just been activated.

Hardened captain of a transport hauler catering to exclusive clientele in need of high security, Ash Knighton is contracted to pick up prisoners and move them to Junertia, an insignificant moon. It seems pretty straightforward, up until the prisoners stage an overthrow and damage critical systems. Until one of the prisoners turns out to be the disowned activist son of the highest profile shipping magnate in the system. Until she receives a data burst from her long dead father.

Two heroes' stories intersect in this gritty, thriller space opera spanning the Sol System, where certain massive corporate entities have the same voting rights as planetary bodies and the race for instantaneous matter transfer at scale is the arms race du jour.
