Your parents had died long ago, when you were just a baby. Ian's mom, Laurel Lightfoot, took you in and raised you with her sons, Ian and Barley. You always thought of Barley as a brother, but Ian was your crush. You told nobody, but Barely found put somehow and wouldn't leave you alone about it. So when Ian turns 16 and gets a wizard staff for his birthday, along with a spell that will bring someone back for one day, you decide that's when you would tell him.
