Nancy comes from a family with too many siblings. As the oldest of the family, she often gets the responsibility to watch over her brothers and sisters pushed on her shoulders by her parents. This responsibility affects her life greatly, it affects her grades and social life. Nancy's only friend was Lexi because she was the only one that could put up with all of Nancy's siblings. 

But there was a much graver problem going on in Nancy's household. Her parents did not have enough money to provide for the whole family, which led to neglecting the oldest children. Especially Nancy. The school noticed this and contacts The Baby Programme.
