Icien, ang batang babaeng sa edad palang ng walong gulang alam na kung paano gumagana ang mundo. 

Lumaki na hindi kapiling ang ina at ama. Tanging ang kaniyang tiyahin ang  nag alaga at nag palaki sa kaniya. 

Isang araw nang may kumatok sa kanilang pintuan. Akala niya isang kakilala lang ng kaniyang tita, akala niya na ang kapitbahay lang pala nila ang kumatok, akala niyang mabuting balita ang ipinadala. 

Nang dahil sa akalang ito, doon nagsimula ang pagbabago ng kaniyang pamumuhay.
