Mist of the night touched my bruised skin as I ran away from home. They are chasing behind, or is it just my imagination? But even so, I need to hide. I don't feel safe. "Get back here!" My father roared. I hurriedly knocked on the neighbor's door hoping they'll take me in and let me hide for a while but no one opened for me. "No one would want to protect you Helena! You ugly bitch! Get back here!' he yelled as he ran faster. I did the same until I had reached the end, yet another dark path towards the wide sea. I have no choice. I have to take the path even if it's long been abandoned and resisted. "You'll not gonna make it back if you cross that path, Helena,-" "Goodbye Father" I cut him off with a tear in my eyes. I continue running into the darkest dept. I would love to not come back.

Uncovered

He slammed me against the wall, his face angry. "Don't think for a second that you can try to get inside my head." He growled, breathing heavily. A moment of silence passed between us where I could feel the tension in the air. I looked down, afraid of what was going to happen. "It's too dark for you," he whispered, letting me go. With that, he swung the door open without looking back and left. ---------------------------------------------------------- For the longest time, I felt like I was broken. Like I was living my life like a robot, knowing the actions but feeling nothing. Then, one day, I felt whole again. I felt like I knew my destiny and why I was where I was. It's because I had a secret life. I had a life, a family. I had a guy who loved me. There was just one problem. I didn't remember any of them.
