Long-serving Kymari warship captain Thessial Kashtan is on patrol in an outlying system of the Empire. It's a thankless and glamourless job, but he's slated for promotion to greater responsibilities soon after.
But when an unidentified vessel emerges into the system and displays hostile intent, he may soon get exactly the diplomatic excitement he wanted...

A Willing Foe and ΔV is set in the universe of my currently-in-progress fanfiction The Nature of Change, which itself was inspired by (and is set in the universe of) Upon Wings of Change, by @CrystalScherer. I'll eventually get 'round to starting work on that again...

Eliona's War 1: Hesitant Healer

80 parts Complete

In which an introverted healer learns to deal with the greatest horrors of his life - socializing, dungeons, and psychopathic NPCs. Season 1 of Eliona's War *** Seth Veregin doesn't know the first thing about video games. But when he's gifted a beta copy of Eliona's War - a Virtual Reality online game that's the very first of its kind - he reluctantly gives it a try. Thus, Severance the healer is born. All he wants is to quietly explore on his own without having to deal with other people. Unfortunately for him, there's a few problems with that plan. Not only did he choose a class that's in high demand, but some players just won't take no for an answer. And the game NPCs? They definitely have a mind and an agenda of their own.
