If someone were to go on Google and search up the definition of "light," the first answer they'd be provided with is "the natural agent that stimulates sight and makes things visible." But to Calypso, it's more than that. During Calypso Merriman's entire life, there was only a single beacon of light that had kept her going- that light was Eliza Everly. She's kind but she's brave. She may have an alcohol problem, but she's oh so outgoing. She sees the world exactly as it is, yet she pushes on with humour and hope. Eliza is the only one left who Calypso loves. Eliza is the light in Calypso's life, and therefore she will be the barrier to anything darkness that might wash out the light that is her best friend. From bottle shards littering closets to hush, daddy would never hurt you, they're friendship is one hell of a roller-coaster. And to say the ride was bumpy is an understatement.
