After all Zhongli didn't care about Childe, he was just an other Chess pice in his stupid mind tricking game. [Zhongchili] Perfect Weapon, Silent Heart by xTeaAndSconesx

The Pyro Gnosis has been claimed. With all seven Gnoses in the Tsaritsa's possession, the final fight to free Teyvat from Celestia's reign and the Abyss' terror draws close. Summoned to Snezhnaya to fulfil their roles in the upcoming battle, Childe and Zhongli find themselves travelling aboard the same ship when a storm hits, stranding them in Childe's hometown of Morepesok. Forced into close proximity with both his father and Zhongli, Childe is forced to confront the unresolved tensions in each relationship whilst readying himself for the battle he's spent a lifetime preparing for. Meanwhile, Zhongli must fight to learn how to love the man who seems determined to subdue the feelings lingering between them. Then, just when Zhongli thinks their situation can't become any more complicated, the unveiling of a decade-held secret threatens to steal away the perfect future he's been longing for.

For Childe, the only thing more difficult than completing a mission in a nation where he's hated, is completing a mission in a nation where he's being threatened with imminent deportation. Out of alternatives and with failure not an option, the only way he can hope to remain in Liyue is by entering a relationship with one of its' residents. He can think of only one person eccentric enough to go along with such a suggestion. Liyue was... interesting, to say the least. Its harbor, to which Childe was set to on yet another glorious (utterly ridiculous) mission by Her Majesty, the Tsaritsa, was too hot, too crowded for Childe's liking. And yet, there was something about it that made him want to stay. Perhaps it was the way the breeze faintly smelled of the ocean and fish, the way Morepesok did, or maybe it was because Liyue Harbor was simply so alive. Or maybe, just maybe, it was because those amber eyes were far too enticing to leave behind, even if they were the eyes of his enemy.

Xiao is certain his life is a joke at this point. He's seen a lot of things in his life, but this takes the cake. Zhongli will be the death of him. In other words, Zhongli kidnapped Childe and now the Fatui think he's dead. At least Aether is there to suffer with him. Someone has to keep these idiots in line.

'We are bound to each other by a contract.' Though Teyvat has yet to be but Mondstadht and Liyue, the world is vast. However, what happens to the rest of the world doesn't concern Childe. In his mind, he only cares for battles, wars, and blood. Perhaps the motivation is to protect his family, or, perhaps, the motive is revenge on the creature that lays in the abyss, waiting to strike at any moment. Or perhaps, he wishes to accomplish both and understand the contract set by him and Zhongli years ago despite not remembering the details. Meeting in the rain, the two placed an agreement upon themselves without an idea of how much destruction would take place. 'If either of us broke the rules set in the contract, we shall suffer the Wrath of the Rock.'

It's been a few weeks since Childe has 'completed' his mission, and yet, he can't convince himself to leave just yet, especially since the Tsaritsa hasn't called him back to Snezhnaya, so he remains in Liyue. He'd gotten into the highest-ranked university in all of Teyvat on a scholarship that covered half the tuition, and he was already working to pay the other half off. Sure, his days were stressful, what with the endless lectures, hours of assignments, and tiring shifts at the café he worked in, but seeing that amber-eyed man, even if it was only once a day, made it all worth it. That is, until that certain man has an unspeakable accident, and suddenly, Childe finds himself being thrust into a situation he never thought he'd be in.
