Part One:
Thalia Xavier has always struggled with her mutation, and while her brother, Charles, frequently tells her that it's nothing to be ashamed of, his actions speak louder. He doesn't like her to use her abilities when in public since she lights up like a glow stick, and he doesn't like her to use them very much at home because she doesn't have full control yet. Their adopted sister, Raven, has a similar issue and has started feeling resentful about being a mutant.
Thalia and Raven both deal with learning to love their mutations while helping their brother and new friends save the world from WW3.

I looked down to her. Her frail body was light, too light, her eyes stared at me. "Help me..." she said squeezing my shirt and jacket in her bloody hands. She fell unconscious her head laying in my chest which I felt was quite comfortable. I regripped my hand under her legs and ran through the maze of hallways to get out.
