Layonna Green is a young adult from North Carolina who recently moved to Seattle, Washington and is struggling with the new changes of her surroundings and learning how to navigate the big changes in her life. When Layonna accidentally sets her small apartment on fire, and has no where to go she turns to Harlee. Harlee Armani is a firefighter born in the city of Chicago, when he's not busy saving lives he's searching to find his lost sister, Taylor and the man who murdered his Mother when he was ten. After meeting Layonna, Harlee's job asks him to sponser her much to his dissatisfaction. He's forced to allow Layonna to stay at his house until she's is back on her feet and his sponsorship is over. As the two grow closer Layonna realizes that even though she's all alone, Harlee has been alone for a longer time and maybe, just maybe, they can keep each other company.
