People of Metal Ft. Kavita Naik and Arjun Naik

Husband and wife duo Kavita and Arjun hail from a small village in Jharsuguda, Odisha. After Arjun, a daily wage worker and the sole earning member of the family, was forced to quit work due to an injury, the couple decided to till the only piece of land they had to make a livelihood out of it. But lack of water, whether for irrigation or drinking, had made farming impossible. One day, they came across Vedanta's Jeevika Samriddhi land & water management project for local farmers in Jharsuguda. Our team helped them dig a well and install a solar pump, learn better farming techniques and access quality seeds, etc., and soon the couple had their field covered in lush crops. Like the story?
