As a vampire, she has to live through centuries. Some might say its a good thing, but have they been subjected to living but never aging? I didn't think so.
Charlotte has been alive since the 1600's, did she think she would be alive this long? No, not at all. But her view on life changed once she met a few people, the same as her, who have been living nearly as long as her.
And a perk of being alive this long is the power you accumulate, such as wealth, and the powers you were reborn with.
