It's the summer of the year 1932, almost 7 years after the infamous Alaskan medicine run to the town of Nome done by the famous Balto. And it had been almost 5 years since his daughter, Aleu, had left Alaska to command a wolf pack in a new land. But now that the pack has gotten a new leader and is secure under another alpha, Aleu has returned back to Nome and has settled into life in the town, and has also found a human owner, as well as the occasional visit to the pack she guided. However, when the pack decides to go see her for a change, things go awry when a previously-unknown cave bursts open to reveal a giant, supposedly extinct species of creature that towers over the landscape. As the beast begins to terrorize Alaska, Aleu rallies her friends and family to uncover the mysteries behind this creature's long-thought-extinct species and to find the key in stopping its rampage.

Nyima and her athletic older sister Yazmina get the chance to go join Camp Cretaceous, but most people don't know much about her as she is very secretive. Her sister is the only one that knows that she is into hidden mysteries and knows a lot about animals whether they're from Mythology, or your every day animal, or animals that are extinct like the dinosaurs as she loves to read. She leaves the sporty stuff for her sister even though her parents forced Nyima to do some running, long jump and high jump, along with throwing her into Gymnastics. Which she doesn't actually mind. She ended up getting to go to Camp Cretaceous because of a Gymnastics sponsorship. One of the differences between the sisters is that Nyima is absolutely curious about new things, but she also loves helping animal conservations, as she also gets to travel a lot because of her sister and her sponsorships. Another difference is that Nyima has blue hair while her sister has black raven hair. Nyima is secretly a Dinosaur fan, but her favorite Dinosaur is the Velociraptor. Her second being the Tarbosaurus. So, when she meets Phoenix Grady, who works with the Velociraptors she can't help but ask questions. She also becomes quick friends with Brooklynn as they both love a good mystery and that their hair colors are different colors too, she also becomes quick friends with Darius who loves Dinosaurs just like her.
