A young man with nothing left in his hometown, moves to a new city for a new start and to start college. However, before leaving, he would be gifted something as a goodbye present from a mysterious man. Upon opening it after his move, it would be revealed to be a hat, a hat that has sentience and can talk to him. He's then thrusted into the madness that surrounds the city, that monsters are causing chaos and a hero is needed to stop them and protect the people. He accepts and becomes two people.
