Callista, aka Callie, has been stuck in an emotionally and mentally abusive relationship for 8 years, since she was 16. William, her fiance (the abuser) conditions her without her even realizing it. When she finally gets the courage to leave, the walls that she has built up to protect herself, keep her from forming any other friendships or relationships. She can't trust anyone completely, except her best friend, especially in her hometown. So, when her best friend talks her into moving to LA, California, she gladly accepts. Guarded from everyone, she runs into an old high school friend. Colby Brock, who was two years younger than her and had a crush on her in school. She never thought of him as anything more than a little brother. This begins a journey that will change her life, and maybe her heart, forever.
