Kade grew up in this small New England town that oozed history. Everything there was traditional. His instructions were clear. Be athletic, find a girl, and get married. Have babies and live the cookie cutter life they gave him. And by the time he started his freshman year he was on the road to that life. He had a beautiful girlfriend who he adored and was climbing the ladder to captaincy on the football team.
But he always knew something with this town was a little... wrong. Kids would go missing for days and reappear in the county hospital with almost no memory to what had happened to them. It was never investigated or looked into. It was just something that happened there.
When Luca Marion, a French Italian exchange student arrived at school, Kade forgot all about the creepy shit happening around him. And what started off as an innocent friendship, grew into a profound bond the infected them like a drug. They fell deeply in love like never before. But as their love bloomed, so did the violence. Someone was taking teenagers but now they weren't coming back. And Luca was next.

Easton King has had a hard life. His parents abandoned him as a toddler and he's been from home to home for as long as he can remember. Nobody seems to want him, they just keep him for a little and eventually they all throw him away to be somebody else's problem. Because of this, he has never been close to anyone. He's learned from a young age that he can't trust anybody to stick with him. Don't get me wrong, he still has friends. In fact, Easton is one of the most popular boys in school. No one knows about his home life because he never talks about it and never hangs out with people outside of school. Derek Danvers (his friends jokingly call him DeeDee) has had a better life. He lives with his family and they are loving and decently forgiving like most parents are. He has suffered from depression and anxiety but not nearly as severely as Easton. He lives his life one day at a time and he doesn't depend on his friends but he trusts that they'll stay by his side, and if they don't then it's for the best. They didn't deserve him. Everyone in the school knows Easton puts up walls. No one gets within two or three feet of him, no one asks about his home life, and no one asks if they can go to his house or if he can go to theirs. But one night, when the boy walked home, he was murdered and found dead on the streets. No one expected this to happen, especially because he was so young and never did anything wrong! Cameron wants to find the one that killed his friend, and make him pay for what he did. But every clue he finds points to Calvin being the one who killed the young boy. Cameron doesn't believe it. To proof himself wrong, he starts to grow closer to Calvin again. But what he doesn't know is that Calvin is starting to fall in love with him.
