Josephine Monroe is the 29 year old daughter of Deanna and Reg Monroe, she's also the youngest out three children. Josephine has been with the group since the very beginning. Her and Rick have had these feelings for each other since the beginning but neither of them acted on those feelings until after Lori dies.

After the prison gets overrun by the Governor, Josephine gets separated from the group and about a week after Aaron found the group he also finds Josephine. She's overwhelmed with relief to find that not only her group is alive and well but also her mother, father, and her two brothers.

To be clear Judith doesn't come into the picture until after the group gets to Alexandria. Josephine is Judith's biological mother instead of Lori and Lori died because she got bit by a walker.
