Nala is a dragon that was born and raised on an island with all the other dragons. Throughout her life, Nala was told that no matter how badly she wanted to, she couldn't leave the island because it was just too dangerous. Even while she was growing up hearing these things constantly, Nala brought her desire to explore the world with her even as she turned old. She saw all kinds of things on her travels and finally managed to find a place where humans lived. Though all of the stories she heard about humans made them seem evil, they couldn't be that bad right?

On the island of Dumais, a baby was sent across the sea as her homeland was engulfed by war. A woman, rather a mother, traveled with the baby girl. The two sailed across stormy seas before landing on an island called Berk. This island is were the baby grew and found herself with mixed feelings for the dragon beast and for a certain boy, rather the Chiefs son. Only things don't turn out the way she thought after that one night.
