"I'll keep her safe Angie, I promise."
Tears fall down and land on the face of my lifeless wife. This can't be happening, not to me, not again. Tears burst out of my eyes and I grab onto Angie as tightly as I can and start shaking her.
"Please Angie! Wake up! Wake up! I can't live without you!" My cries are useless, the heart monitor had long gone silent. I sob uncontrollably onto Angie and hug her lifeless body to me.
"You can't leave me, I can't do it alone, not again."
Screams come widely out of my mouth and I let them. She can't be dead, but she is and the worst part is she died for her. Even thinking her name makes anger boil inside of me. It was her fault, and I'm never going to forgive Jade.
All I can think about now is Loretta. I made a promise to Angie and I intend to keep it. Wiping the tears from my face I take one last look at my wife then turn around and walk out the hospital room. All I know is that I will protect our daughter. Even if it means taking her away...
