Here I was. My place of residence for the next 3 years- a
standard unkempt house in the middle of a row of terrace houses, down a dodgy
looking street with empty bottles and beer cans rolling everywhere, and cars
parked haphazardly wherever there was space. Turning to the taxi
that dropped me here with a sigh, I paid with the slowly diminishing
supply of notes that lay crumpled in my wallet.
Pulling my large suitcase behind me, I kicked open the gate, which was hanging
crookedly on its hinges anyway and walked up the concrete path, before getting my keys out to unlock, what I presumed was the locked door.
"The last one's here!" A guy's voice reached me through the thin door
and I froze in my tracks. Sure enough the door was flung open and my three
house mates stood opposite me, six eyes critically analysing my every feature...

"We're in your dorms Calum!" I exclaimed as he lifted me up onto his low dresser and started kissing down my neck. "What about your roommate?" I asked pushing him back. "Oh come on, you saw me put an X on the whiteboard on the door." He said with a smirk running his hands up my thighs and to my hips. "Yeah I noticed and what I also know is if my brother ever sees an X on that whiteboard that he didn't write, then he's going to kill you." Calum huffed and moved away, stopping his assault on my neck. I gave him a knowing look, crossing my arms. "Fine, I'll erase it." He grumbled. "But God when we get back to the car Kitten, you better be prepared." I rolled my eyes as he opened his bedroom door. Having a boyfriend in college came with a lot of benefits like parties and alcohol. The only downside, he was rooming with my big brother. Guess we're just going to have to not get caught. -X- It's been almost a year since Calum and Lily first began dating and now Calum is college bond while Lily is stuck in their hometown as a senior in high school. "There is no way I am rooming with-uh that" I point to the devil sitting in the corner. He looks down on his phone not even paying attention to me. Or what I have to say. "Woah" he says. He starts chuckling. "What in the world is so important" I practically scream at him taking his phone. Once I look at his phone and look. I scream even more. "Ew. Ew. Ewwwww" I screech. He laughs evilly. "Oh yea. And that my friends is, Carly, room 17" he says. "Ew" I say for the last time. "Is there anyway I can switch" I ask again. "I'm sorry ma'am there is no more rooms available. Unless you want to drop out" he folds his hands together. I take a deep breath for what feels like 20 minutes. Settling Slowly
2015 rolled in with a bang, and it did not have the grace to gift me with a social life that everyone in a one hundred year radius would be jealous of or that is even just the talk of the town. Instead I got myself into a complicated relationship which wasn't much talked about, a relationship that I didn't get into is talked about all the time and university is around the figurative corner. That is where you can factor in people I suppose I should call 'fans', the fascination that comes in with cutlery, pots, pans and other formerly boring things. But let us not forget that my parents are finally getting married and Mum can't shop for lace without me wanting to kill her, add in a dose of sleepless nights, invigorating kisses - which have nothing to do with the sleepless nights and a lot to do with nightmares - Harriet not knowing the meaning of the words "you're done" and Ice Ice Baby is still a thing. We're all growing up (except Dad who will still make inappropriate jokes at every inappropriate moment, some to do with what cannot be done when you're wearing a plaster cast) and holidays are being planned though some are less holiday and more a mad dash to find somewhere to live out in the big wide world without our parents. An Unexpected Moment
... that changes everything Sarah was starting her junior year of high school. Looking at herself in the mirror, she saw a pretty average blonde haired, blue eyed, teenager. She was neither in the popular group, nor one of the many cliched outsiders. Sarah was a nobody. She liked to blend in and lay low. It was her way out of not only this town, but her house. No one knew it, but her father was a high functioning alcoholic that often took his anger out on his family. With her older sister now in college, it had turned to her more often. Laying low in general was a good strategy. Across town, Ryan was prepping for his final year in high school. While he wasn't the stereotypical quarterback of the football team, he did fit into the popular crowd. His sports of choice included basketball and soccer, either of which might line him up for a scholarship next year. Ryan had a group of close friends and a lot of adoring acquaintances. It wasn't easy juggling his athletics and keeping the grades up, but he was just that good. The supporting parents didn't hurt either. It might be a cliché romance, but it will be fun to see what the year and beyond holds. ------------------------------------------ This is a story I wrote years ago, or at least partially wrote. ✨✨✨✨ I was looking at the guy and he was still asleep. I leaned towards and slowly pushed away a few strands of his hair from his forehead and gently tapped on his arm. After a few taps, his eyes fluttered and opened but squinted his eyes to adjust to the brightness of the room. ✨✨✨✨✨✨ This is a story that takes place in a college. It's about two strangers who met for the first time in a weird way but end up being friends. This is a journey of six young people getting ready to be released into the real world. They go through a lot of ups and downs. Deal with their own issues and help their friends deal with theirs. They realize that nobody is what they look on the outside and definitely not perfect. They are gonna be some cliches, some plot twists and humor. Some cute lovey-dovey stuff and occasional mature content.Also will have stuff related to mental health and LGBTQ. So if this stuff bothers you, you might as well not start reading it. So this is sort of a trigger warning for those who are uncomfortable with any of the said content. What are the odds that my roommate brought this sleaze-bag home? "Uh..." is the only word that is able to exit my mouth. He chuckles and leans back into the couch behind him, his eyes not leaving mine. A pair of dimples so large you could fill them with water and call them kiddie pools. "I-I guess you can't choose your roommate when you apply so late," I say with a nervous laugh before my hand comes up to hold my own arm in an attempt to comfort myself out of this awkward moment. His eyebrows raise until they disappear under his floppy bangs. "Yeah, I guess that's true. Hopefully you don't mind me bringing girls around here often." I thickly swallow as his words make their way through my brain, and I take a small step back until I feel the bathroom door against my back. "What?" I blurt out. He smirks and takes a few steps closer to me, his hands slowly, slowly coming to rest on the door on either side of my shoulders, about six inches between our faces.
