Here I was. My place of residence for the next 3 years- a
standard unkempt house in the middle of a row of terrace houses, down a dodgy
looking street with empty bottles and beer cans rolling everywhere, and cars
parked haphazardly wherever there was space. Turning to the taxi
that dropped me here with a sigh, I paid with the slowly diminishing
supply of notes that lay crumpled in my wallet.
Pulling my large suitcase behind me, I kicked open the gate, which was hanging
crookedly on its hinges anyway and walked up the concrete path, before getting my keys out to unlock, what I presumed was the locked door.
"The last one's here!" A guy's voice reached me through the thin door
and I froze in my tracks. Sure enough the door was flung open and my three
house mates stood opposite me, six eyes critically analysing my every feature...
