A lot of the story follows canon. The biggest difference is there is no Rey. No hate to the character, she just doesn't fit into this retelling! She gripped his arms as they caged her, keeping her from escaping. "I'd be damned if I let you slip through my fingers again." ~*~Summary~*~ Set after the events of Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. Rey is sent by General Organa on an important mission to infiltrate the First Order from within, feed helpful information to the General and bring Ben Solo home. In order for the mission to succeed, Rey has to do something she never imagined herself doing. This fanfic explores a different ending to TROS starting at about the halfway point, when Kylo reveals the truth about Rey in the hangar. It will focus mainly on their story but there will be significant plot arcs that focus on Finn, Poe, Leia, and others. There will be a few augmentations to the earlier story, but I have tried to stay true to the plot up until this point, except for the 16 hr deadline Palpatine gave them. His threat was open ended in my version. My earliest memory is pain. Pain of losing a mother, pain of losing the love of a father, pain from the isolation that happened after the incident. I am reminded by others that what happened on that day was an accident and it wasn't my fault, but deep down I know what truly happened and so does my father and brothers. The deep self-anger and self-hate I have was slowly consuming me until I was taken away by General Organa and the Resistance. My life was beginning to look brighter, until the day I was kidnapped by the First Order. This is where my story neither begins nor ends. This is when my story becomes dark, so dark that even a Sith Lord would tremble in fear. I don't own the Star Wars universe (duh) but I do own the main character and those that are not from SW. There will be spoilers, but the storyline might diverge a bit from the original plot from the films.
