We all have a past. The past isn't something we usually like to revisit. One night was all it took for my whole life to change. My life fell apart one of the many nights my parents were arguing with each other. I was five and loved in a two story house. The bedroom, the kitchen, and living room were on the main floor. The other floor; the basement, that's where everything went wrong. That was one night I'll never forget. It was the night I grew the courage to stop it all. I ran to the door that lead to the basement and swung the door open. Up against the wall was my mother with my dads hands around her neck strangling her. She was gasping for breath, I couldn't just let her die, so I went down the stairs, and that was the moment I knew I was going to die.

Beth has a pretty hard life but when she goes to school with the mysterious Ryder things change around for her. She may even find out some answers from her past if she plays her cards right.
