Rosalie Kasten is out of luck and out of time. For the last two years, she's been living on borrowed time. After her involvement with the death of Edwin Pierce - Alexander Pierce's son - it's only a matter of time before Hydra comes for her.

James Barnes is only interested in the bounty the police has put on her head, but he soon learns that maybe Rosalie can help him just as much as he can help her. Things don't go as smoothly as they might have hoped. As soon as Rosalie peeks her head out, every place is swarming with Hydra agents, and now James is the one who has to get her out of it.

And the narrator? They merely want to tell the story of a gunslinger.
