"I'm not looking for anything serious right now..." He said conspicuously. "Just some uninhibited, raw... fun." Unable to suppress the sudden urge that overtook me, I took a step closer to him, conscious of his eyes following me. Every nerve in my body flared at the sight of him and the worst part was that I couldn't even hold back. "Well, you know if you want to get that message across..." I whispered, reaching forward to unbutton his shirt. "Maybe you should give them a peek into the fun you're referring to." I snapped back to reality and took a step back, but not without noticing the breath he took when I removed my hands from his warm skin. I looked up at him, the caramel specs in his eyes turning a shade darker, as though he was stopping himself from doing something we'd both regret. "Thanks for the suggestion." He said slowly, a ghost of a mischievous smile on his face before walking away. *** Nothing could have changed the way Kira Evans felt about her long-term boyfriend - nothing until she met the guy she thought she'd never see again. As problems arise in their relationship, and everything they've built together starts crumbling piece by piece, there's only one person she can trace it back to. Juggling university, a difficult family life, and a deteriorating relationship could not get any harder, or so she thinks. He's the type of guy she'd only ever imagine - and that's what scares her the most - the unspoken words and the stolen glances. He's impossible to hate and no matter how hard she tries to convince herself, everything leads her back to his ability to destroy her and make her whole in a split second. 'From Sparks to Flames' is a YA novel that shows the beautiful and the devastating; the pleasure and the pain; the love and the hate. Will their sparks turn to flames or will they be left as dying embers? [Contains mature content.]

"I think it's best we stay cordial while we're here. You know, avoid any awkwardness," I say, trying to sound casual. Jay leans against the doorframe, his eyes flickering with amusement as he watches me. "You want to be friends?" "No. I mean, not friends. Just civil," I answer, a little too quickly. "Okay. I can do civil," he says, his gaze never leaving mine like he is trying hard to read me. I look away, suddenly too exposed beneath his gaze. Damnit! This is going to be harder than I thought. - It was a moment. One that could have turned into something more.Until she walked away. Eight months later, Ira has to face him again. And this time, there's nowhere to run. Not for at least a week. After all, it's her best friend's wedding and he's invited too. So, she does what she's always done best-pretend. Pretend nothing happened. Pretend he didn't matter. Pretend her heart didn't skip a beat the second she saw him again. But Jay? He's not playing pretend. With that maddening smile and the kind of charm that should come with a warning, he's determined to remind her of everything she's tried to forget- even the years she's spent years mastering the art of detachment. He's the only one who's ever come close to reaching the version of her that she thought, she had buried long ago. And that's what makes him dangerous. Because she shouldn't return to who she was. She's ice. And he? He's the fire that never stopped burning. The real question is: Can she let his fire thaw the ice that's long been her shield?
