Haunted by the memory of a mistake made three years previously, Lottie has never been more prepared for a change. Restless from the unused potential to make a change, overrun with ideas for the future, and hopelessly in love with her own best friend, she begins to question what more to life could have been waiting for her. She sets off on a mission with resourceful monkey Niko and quiet manatee Wardell to provide vacation homes for animals looking out for them and expand the client base of the Happy Home Designer and Academy. She comes to learn valuable lessons and picks up several friends along the way, but some are more welcomed than others.
