I glance at his hand in confusion. Unsure I reach out slowly, cousisly, placing my hand in his. The simple touch makes my hand burst into flames on the inside as he softly folds his fingers around mine. I look up into his eyes, to see them already focused on mine.

Brea just moved to a new town, her Dad is besties with the neighbors which means she has to become friends with their kids.
But the boy she wants to be friends with, seem like he doesn't like her very much, thought she's only been nice to him.

Feeling offended, I cross my arms in front of myself. "Why, because I'm a girl?"
He lifts his shoulders up, still focusing on the items on the rack. "This is a free country." He says. And again I'm not quite understanding what he means.
"Just so you know, I happen to have electric as a subject." I say, pushing my chin up in the air.
"Oh yeah?" I can hear the teasing in his tone. This only makes me glare at him. He doesn't notice as he takes something from the rack and read the back of it.
"Yeah!" I confirm.
"You can change a lightbulb then." He mumbles softly as he turns his back to me once again and walk to the front of the store.

Things get even more complicated once they step into school... or more like HE gets more complicated but she's eager to brake through the wall he has built around himself.
And maybe... just maybe... she'll finally get him to smile that handsome, leg dropping smile of his to her... the one he's willing to give everyone except her.
