Alicia Hernandez knows her gran tio Joaquín was an awful, horrible man who nearly killed his own two brothers, but her beloved gran tio Alvaro saved his brother Rio, and they both made a new life in Colombia, hoping to forget what happened in Mexico.
But sadly, because of Joaquín's actions, her family has been on the run for decades from the evil French mafia known as Oiseaux de Proie. They had to leave Colombia, and their past lives, and go back to their homeland of Mexico, leaving Joaquín behind.
But Oiseaux de Proie never gives up, led by Sébastien Merchand and assisted by a mysterious hitman known only as the Debt Collector, they intend to find and kill Joaquín, and the family.
Now Alicia has found out that Joaquín may not be the man he was said to be, and with enemies piling up, in order to save her family, she, along with her tio and prima, must become runaways, and save their family, and unearth the truth about gran tio Joaquín.
