Ophelia Mercedes' life was perfectly normal. Magic existed but it never interfered too greatly. She went to a normal human school and lived a perfectly normal human life. It wasn't until her family was viciously attacked by a rogue newly turned vampire while she was out and the subsequent turning of her father and the death of her mother that thing. Her father was turned into a vampire and he had found his mate, the woman who sponsored him during the turning process and the headmistress of a school for the children of the country's most well-off and magical. She's sent to this school with her younger brother and has to navigate life as the new girl at a school full of people determined to hate her for one simple fact, they all hate humans.
