Edmund van Aalsburg is a doctor, infatuated with the thought of a beautiful life in a perfect world. His world, with his perfect pregnant wife and his perfect soon-to-be child. 

He believes he has everything. That he's God's favorite.

     Dakota Dillinger is an upcoming writer in her final year of college. 

     Both of them know that, inside, no matter how they long for the world to be perfect, it never will be. 

     Edmund, unlike Dakota, has trouble absorbing that fact. So he finds a solution:

     You never lose mannequins. Mannequins never lose you.
