>>There are always two sides to every story. Our enemy was fierce and elusive. They slaughtered us throughout the known galaxy and back to Earth. With but one hope, we were victorious. Yes, Humanity has won. Yet, through all the pain and anguish, it is important to realize that they are no different than us.
Fear, pain, and anger are not Humanity's to claim. They are attributes to all sentient beings.

Our story begins in a particularly unlikely place- with the enemy.

Onwa 'Lsios, a young Sangheili, is a mere seven months from mandatory enlistment in the Covenant's military.

The Covenant is comprised of many different species. In the year 2524, a single-manned Human freighter came in contact with a Covenant ship piloted by the Kig-Yar, one of the alien species that makes up the Covenant. The Human and his freighter are never heard from again. In the year 2525, a Covenant ship makes its appearance over the planet Harvest. Peace talks have failed. This is war.

After an UNSC fleet fell prey to an ancient Forerunner scheme, a lone Spartan is left stranded in a world that he doesn't understand. He gets himself inadvertently bonded to a dragon, marking him as a pawn in a new conflict. He must fight for his life and overcome his own nature to gain allies in a world where nothing makes sense. But war always catches on, burning all it touches. Episode 1: Inserted into Alagaesia, Running from the Empire, The Varden, Battle of Farthen Dur, The Shade's master, A New Leader for the Varden, Travelling to Du Weldenvarden. I believe that seeing more than 60 parts in a story makes the readers (or at least me as a reader) feel uncomfortable so I'm dividing in different Episodes: At the Beors, At Du Weldenvarden, The Beggining of the Invasion, New Allies, etc. I'm trying to keep the word count per chapter at 2000 but I can't always divide the chapters smoothly so there may be some parts with 3000 to 7000 words. I suggest to read each chapter entirely to get a better grasp of the plot. Also, there are some scenes of bloodshed and fight, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. There may be some scenes not for children but not until, at least, chapter 35, Episode 3 or 4. Updates once or twice a week. Also gramatical correction of the already posted chapters. Tell me how long would you like each chapter, in a comment please. Also, Read, Vote, Comment and Share with other people (RVCS). I don't own this story, it belongs to "Masterdude21" at www.fanfiction.net . I'm just correcting grammar, spelling, lexical and syntax errors to make it more readable. Cover made by 4maram (me).

Prequel 01/02 (Current Version: Prototype - Version 1.5) (Status: Complete) This story/fanfiction is a 'what if scenario' within the Sci-Fi videogame series known as Halo and is based on the legendary and hyper-lethal Noble 6/Spartan B-312 and his outcome after the end of Halo Reach, essentially surviving after the fall of the planet and his comrades that is Noble Team. (Canonically he is considered dead or MIA) The story is a 'reimagining' of Halo and is non-canon and is to be not taken seriously as this was an idea created back when I first played the games. The Ghosts of War is a prequel and pilot of my main series known as 'Halo Battle Buddies' and will lead up to the first book on where Halo Combat Evolved takes place. DISCLAIMOR: I do not own Halo and the intellectual property belongs to Bungie, Microsoft and 343 Industries. This is for fun, and not making any form of profit of this story. IMPORTANT: This is currently a prototype and everything in this story is subject to change as time progresses and not the official release. Series Order: (IN PROGRESS) 1) Halo Battle Buddies: A Pilot's Journey (Halo Reach) - 2) Halo Battle Buddies: The Ghosts of War (Halo Reach) 3) Halo Battle Buddies 1: Combat Evolved (Halo Combat Evolved) 4) Halo Battle Buddies 2: Homefront (Halo 2) 5) Halo Battle Buddies 3: War's End (Halo 3) 6) Halo Battle Buddies 4: Reclamation (Halo 4) 7) Halo Battle Buddies 5: Guardian Angels (Halo Infinite) 8) Halo Battle Buddies 6: Spirits of Fire (Halo Infinite)

[COMPLETED] War. Sacrifice. Two inevitabilities of human nature come together once more as the human race encounters its latest Great Filter. The Covenant. A genocidal alien alliance hell-bent on the utter destruction of man-kind. A theocratic society convinced that humanity is the only thing standing in its way between eternal damnation, and ascension to godliness. As humanity quickly realizes they're outmanned, outmatched, and outgunned they call on the young and vibrant to defend their way of life. Joseph Gray. An ordinary young man living an ordinary life finds his society crumbling apart at the seams due to an ever-intensifying plague of insurrection that seems to spread faster than it can be quelled. After joining the Marines to make a difference, to bring stability to his society, he soon realizes that he's no more than a minuscule cog in a very large machine. Harvest. A major farming colony at the edge of UNSC-controlled space goes offline. Just as Gray thinks he'll coast out his short-term service in the Corps, tragedy strikes, and a new player enters the field. Now Gray must desperately juggle the responsibilities of maintaining his relationship with the girl of his dreams, raising a future family, surviving the Covenant onslaught, and most of all: Keeping his humanity. The Covenant doesn't play by the rules in their quest to exterminate humanity, and as the UNSC grows desperate, Gray's world will be rocked time and time again. ***Warning: Mature Content*** Disclaimer: I do not own the rights to Halo. As a fan-fiction, this story features my characters and my story in Halo's setting. (I will also be posting the links to all the sources I used upon completion of the novel) Please enjoy! :)
