>>There are always two sides to every story. Our enemy was fierce and elusive. They slaughtered us throughout the known galaxy and back to Earth. With but one hope, we were victorious. Yes, Humanity has won. Yet, through all the pain and anguish, it is important to realize that they are no different than us.
Fear, pain, and anger are not Humanity's to claim. They are attributes to all sentient beings.

Our story begins in a particularly unlikely place- with the enemy.

Onwa 'Lsios, a young Sangheili, is a mere seven months from mandatory enlistment in the Covenant's military.

The Covenant is comprised of many different species. In the year 2524, a single-manned Human freighter came in contact with a Covenant ship piloted by the Kig-Yar, one of the alien species that makes up the Covenant. The Human and his freighter are never heard from again. In the year 2525, a Covenant ship makes its appearance over the planet Harvest. Peace talks have failed. This is war.

An ordinary young man living an ordinary life finds his society crumbling apart at the seams due to an ever-intensifying plague of insurrection that seems to spread faster than it can be quelled. After joining the Marines to make a difference, to bring stability to his society, he soon realizes that he's no more than a minuscule cog in a very large machine. Harvest. A major farming colony at the edge of UNSC-controlled space goes offline. Just as Gray thinks he'll coast out his short-term service in the Corps, tragedy strikes, and a new player enters the field. Now Gray must desperately juggle the responsibilities of maintaining his relationship with the girl of his dreams, raising a future family, surviving the Covenant onslaught, and most of all: Keeping his humanity. Halo 4 Reclamation - Alternate Universe Halo Story by Chris9417
16 parts Complete
In an alternate universe of Halo, the Master Chief and Cortana arrive on Earth after their harrowing journey through the stars, but with a dark twist-Cortana is rapidly succumbing to Rampancy. In a desperate bid to save her, the Chief seeks out Dr. Halsey, the brilliant scientist who created her, only to discover that the only way to preserve Cortana's consciousness is to upload her into a human host. The process will "kill" the human's mind, leaving Cortana as the sole occupant of the body, effectively replacing them. In a shocking turn, Dr. Halsey volunteers herself, offering up her own life to save the AI that has become so much more than just a tool. Halsey undergoes the procedure, and what emerges is a new, human version of Cortana-still carrying the brilliance and tactical genius of the AI, but now trapped in a fragile human form. With ONI breathing down their necks and the UNSC labeling them as fugitives, Chief and Cortana (now Halsey) are forced into a high-stakes escape. Together, they must navigate treacherous waters, relying on the very skills and knowledge that made them the ultimate weapons of war. As they flee to the fringes of the galaxy, they set up a hidden outpost where Cortana/Halsey begins to harness both human and AI strengths to outwit their enemies. With new alliances and strategies at their disposal, they must take the fight to ONI, knowing that the path forward could alter the future of humanity-and their own survival-forever. This is a story of sacrifice, survival, and a relentless fight for freedom against the very forces that created them.

***Mature Content**** **I have heavily updated this story. It needed it! Aria Peril, the lead Sergeant of a ragtag group of ODST wisecracks, has been stuck trying to run a division with no second in command and no officer. Though she does her job well, and most of the troops respect her greatly, there are still some who have issues with what is to come. The year is 2552, just after the Great Schism, and an Epoch-Class Heavy Carrier is retuning to Earth after several years in space. With the Human-Covenant war coming to an end, the troops are getting cabin fever and the real shenanigans begin. Some new troops are headed their way and Aria is making the appropriate preparations for their arrival. Rha' Bahtiyaree, a Sangheili Ultra, is among the new arrivals. It is love at first sight, and Aria is head over heals! Much to her disappointment, he is their new division officer but despite that, the attraction is actually mutual. Rha' and Aria are now faced with a predicament; follow the orders of the military or allow themselves to immerse in a forbidden love?
