Expectations vs reality of being in your 20s

Has anyone ever told you life when you were 20 was gonna be the start of a brand new chapter in your life and your gonna finally figure out who you are and know what career you want.

when in all honesty it's a load of bullshit, they lied because being in your 20s sucks. One half of the population in their 20s know exactly where they are in life and what they are put on this earth to do and is getting married or starting a family.

The second half doesn't have a clue what they want to do with their life and is single as fuck trying to keep themselves alive, trying to eat 3 meals a day, work at a shitty 9-5 job, pay the bills, keep yourself healthy and fit and still fit in dating, friends and family in their schedule.

All your friends from high school have left the town your in, your parents expect so much of you even though they say they are proud, you can still hear it in their voice as do your siblings

your constantly putting yourself down because your not where you thought you were going to be when your were only just a little kid.

And to top it all off the movies set the expectations of men and dating way too fucking high because there's no way a handsome Prince is going to sweep me off my feet and put me on the back of a horse and ride into sunset together without you know strings attached.
