Somewhere in the East End of Gotham City, Selina Kyle sat on the floor of her little apartment. It wasn't much. In fact, it had never been much but it was all she ever had - for now. Selina reached into the little black suede satchel and grabbed one of the four African diamonds in the little bag. The diamond glistened in the night as she lifted it up to her eyes. So much value and worth in such a little rock but sadly it was not the forever fortune she had hoped it was. Selina placed the diamond back in the satchel that laid in between her legs. How much more would be enough she pondered. When would it be enough? She sat up off the floor and made her way to the little balcony. Mercury, her black cat followed her from behind. Mercury wasn't just any black cat, no this was a fine purebred black Cornish rex that she had stolen from a drug lord in Istanbul. Mercury followed suit climbing into her arms.
