Planet Earth is no longer the safe haven it used to be, and it's time for humans to move out.

When the tectonic plates shift around, causing all sorts of disasters, there are spaceships for only half of the remaining population of Earth to evacuate. Faye Cadwell and her little brother are chosen from their household to go aboard the spaceship and separate from their parents.

On the journey to the new planet, Faye meets Aiden Amherst, a young soldier volunteer working for the government, aboard her ship. The two dive headfirst into a romance inclusive of secrets and lies. All the while, Faye learns about the fraudulent scheme that the government holds for the new nation.

Can Faye trust this intoxicating yet secretive soldier? And how long can she make it before everything comes crumbling down?

It was 2050, the year of the misery. The world War 3 happened, a nuclear war which ended up making the earth inhabited. But luckily there were survivors. There was an organization called 'Octagon Veranda' situated on a lonely Island which was covered by a special Nano cover which was supposed to last 300 years and it's a shield against radiation, bioweapons and chemical attacks. This organization of scientists was created to survive the World War, which could've wiped out humans from Earth. The communication system within the island was advanced and had no connection with outside to prevent AI attacks. It was protected in each possible way which is why humanity still lasts. It is 2201 now. Our little island is the only place humanity can survive on the earth but sadly it's a small island. The population is rising. So now we have a lot more problems to survive than radiation. There are two parts of the island. Inside and outside. Simply heaven and hell on the same island. If you can get inside you are more than lucky. If you get to live outside, you better pray for death. Inside the island is the place where the Octagon Veranda, the main buildings and the city are situated. Octagon Veranda, we work on eight sectors that help humanity to survive. Each sector has a chancellor, and together that's the Octagon council. Edward Sallow - Nano technology sector Kane Johnson - Chemical sector Kirstein Evens - Mechanicals and communication sector. Jessy Terco - Environmental science, Biology and human studies sector Elsa Blake -Medical sector. Bell Bostic - Security, exploration and social work sector Penny Browns - Hydrology and Farming Sector Jupiter Terco -Astro sector

In forty-five days, a disaster will strike the Earth and wipe out civilization. The cities will burn, the governments will collapse, and humanity will be brought to the brink of extinction. Out of the panic, an unthinkable menace arises-one that may kill all hope. Within this turmoil, Anthony hides a profound crisis behind his perfect facade, while Alma carries a heavy family secret. Faced with the fear that was taking over society and the break-up of alliances, both were thrown in front of the ruins of their world, where the lives they knew had shattered. From survival to sacrifice, "Countdown to Doom" places you in a world where such a question must be asked: just how far would you go when the end is inevitable to save what's left and protect those you love?
