The sleepy fishing village of Saltash is still grieving the disappearance and presumed death of Alder Flint when, exactly one year later, Selwyn Blackthorn finds him swimming at the beach. Alder seems unharmed, but he has no explanation for his long absence and Wyn knows that there's something different about him. And it's not just that Alder's suddenly interested in being Wyn's friend. Wyn is one of the last remaining sea witches in Saltash, and the Goddess Below the Waves has been sending him mysterious dreams that he's sure have something to do with Alder. As he grows closer to Alder and finds himself falling in love, Wyn must decide if he really wants to solve the mystery of Alder Flint. Along the way, Wyn also uncovers long-hidden secrets about himself, and he must decide if it's better that some things stay buried beneath the waves. Quinn Bhat just found out their mother is dead. She left for a research exhibition and never came back. They didn't even get to say goodbye. Now, with hardly any warning, much less time to grieve, they must move across and ocean leaving behind everyone they've ever known to live with the father they've never met, a man no less busy than their mother was. Unceremoniously dumped at Pine Mountain Academy, a boarding school in a tiny town north of Quebec City, Quinn is left to figure out what happens now. But maybe between huge storms, mysterious disappearances, and rumours of ghosts, their mother's story isn't over yet. And maybe, it's up to them to continue it.
