Backs against the door, the ears that were supposedly deaf took notice of the change in demeanor. The once delighted grin began to erode into a deformed frown, filled with woe and despair to reciprocate the expression of the person in front of them.
In their hands was a worn notebook, a friendly companion that held them down, but it was now no longer. The presence of the thick, slim object vanished, along with the façade that they played meticulously for a lengthy duration.
Leaving the person with their thoughts, a way to describe their current state rivalled and became the epitome of misery. An unfortunate being they were; nothing could fix the wound that has been inflicted.
