*I created this because the audience was never treated to a Korra/Kyoshi interaction and I believe that this dynamic could have and should have been explored given their similarities. Both women have excellent stories and I want an exchange between the two of them to happen. Given Korra's severing from the past Avatars, this was not easy to weave into the current canon, but I tried my best. Enjoy!
*Picks up after Ruins of the Empire comics, spoilers for that and Kyoshi novels*

Inspirations
Chapter 1: just something to set the stage and get the ball rolling
Chapter 2: common motif of the swamp (ATLA, LOK, and TSOK Yun vs Father Glowworm) and emotions affecting the spirit world
Chapter 3: inspired by Korra and Bolins restaurant scene in S1; daofei groups in TROK/TSOK
Chapter 4: lots of original content- names and locations pull from Gobi Desert
Chapter 5: several scene breaks similar to TROK/TSOK- I don't usually like using a lot but I feel like they fit this chapter. The first scene is based heavily off my own relationship so I hope it comes off authentic! <3
Chapter 6: my and Korra's mutual hatred of politics, enjoy!
Chapter 7: Just some more framework, don't mind me taking my sweet time setting up the story, next chapter should be a good one
Chapter 8: more original stuff! Enjoy
Chapter 9: I feel like the story is starting to feel like a true avatar series right about now, hope you enjoy! Comments always appreciated

*Old Work* "Well, my family have a lot of great benders. Aang, Tenzin, Katara, Kya even my dad was a great firebender with an earthbender mom... I can't understand why I'm not destined to bend. If I have to be honest, it's all I've ever wanted to do. I too wanna make my family proud." I said letting all of that go, and I felt relief in my body. I've never opened up like that, especially not with people my age. "Wow, you're actually capable of saying more than four words." He said and we both laughed. I could see where he was coming from. I was never the one to be good with words. "Sorry, I didn't mean to bore you with the story of my life." I said already regretting how I had rambled just a few moments ago. "No, I'm glad you're finally opening up. It's nice to know the real you." He said and stopped up. I automatically stopped up myself and looked up at him. Into his mysterious eyes, holding more than I could ever be able to explain ************************************************ In this story we follow Kya's daughter, Naomi the nonbender. After Naomi's dad past away, everything has been difficult for her. Kya can't watch her own daughter feel this kind of hurt anymore, so she gets the idea of sending Naomi to Republic City. Avatar: The Legend Reborn - Book 1: Hope

13 parts Complete

The Legend Reborn is a story I wrote in late 2014 about the Avatar after Korra. After the release of the Legend of Korra follow up comics I went back and added references to the events of the comics but didn't change my story. Following the 2021 announcement of Avatar Studios I decided to share my ideas since it's very possible Bryke could decide to continue the Avatar Cycle and render my story implausible. I hope they instead decide to go backwards (possibly a Kyoshi series) since there are also many other great fan projects that would be rendered implausible by a Korra sequel (notably The Legend of Genji, a project very different from my own but has my respect and admiration). But who am I to disagree with what Mike and Bryan do with their own fantastic universe. Hope you all enjoy the story. 😊 Disclaimer: I do not own or have any rights to Avatar: The Last Airbender, Legend of Korra, or any other content (present or future) from this universe.
