In this World, Kings are the rulers. Alongside them are their Queens, but most prefer their mistresses. Queens tolerate these women for they are Witches. Witches with immense power that help kingdoms prosper for ages. The most rare of these mistresses are Seers. Their power belongs in their sight. A sight that has become a curse, for they can only see what their surroundings want them to see. These women are the King's Hand. Seers, especially, are kept in the castle. They pose a danger of being captured by anyone who longs for their sight. To go against the King would be unwise, for he has taken away their families, some even slaughtered. Kings have made sure that they are the only ones who can provide for them. Since all the women in their lives are gone, men have walked all over them. This is one Seer's story.
