Freedom is not a word which exists there. Freedom is what the people want. Freedom is something most people will never get In a city being led by a corrupt bloodline, boys and girls aged 15 to 18 years are forced into teams of three called Triptychs, which then have to undergo four months of harsh physical and mental challenges. If you don't please the bloodline, they kill you, simple as that. The minority of the Triptychs who actually complete the challenges get to leave the city and have freedom. 15 year old Cole is a loner, a reject and someone who people would make fun of. What happens when he is forced into a Triptych with people who are just like him? Will they survive the four months and get what most people don't, or will they die trying? Will they defy the odds or will they succumb to the pressure? Will an unbreakable friendship be formed or will it end just as quickly as it started? How much is freedom really worth?
