'What do you want?' He asked huskily as he moved towards her slowly, giving her time to escape and walk away if she wanted. But she didn't want to walk away. The tension in the air was so palpable Inej felt suffocated. Kaz gazed down at her and placed his hand against the wall, inches away from Inej's head. 'What do you want, Inej?' he repeated softly.
She looked up at him, unable to look away from his piercing gaze even though the intensity of it all had her internally screaming. Her heart was racing and she felt a rush of pleasure and desire soar in her very veins, drunken in the knowledge that Kaz did desire her, despite his often contradictory actions. But she knew what she wanted. She has known, ever since the moment she realised she had fallen for Kaz Brekker, bastard of the Barrel. 'I want to touch you.'
